Desert Botanical Gardens - Chihuly "The Nature of Glass"

A friend recommended the 4:00pm slot for this timed-entry show, because you experience the exhibit in two forms; first with the wonderful afternoon shadows that lengthen to twilight and second with dramatic artificial light.

We took a break at the Patio Cafe in between to rest our feet and refuel. The Santa Fe Wrap was very tasty. Music was provided for "Spiked" the DBG's "Thursday night social event"(extra $$), but the sound managed to slip past the velvet rope boundaries, as did the patrons carrying the cocktail glasses with lights bouncing in the bottom. The hors d'oeuvres didn't break free, so no wrap vs. horses' do-overs comparisons can be made.

The evening even included an audience participation zombie-walk-to-the-burning-torch performance. [Skip to about 11:40 on the video, if you want to go directly there and skip all the artsy-fartsy stuff]

Concrete plans were made and executed. Success!
